AmaZulu have announced the signing of midfielder Ben Motshwari from Orlando Pirates.
Motshwari, 32, joined Pirates from the no defunct Bidvest Wits in 2018 and had made 133 appearances for the club.
However, he fell down the pecking order under Jose Riveiro, starting just for of his 18 appearances in 2022/23, while this campaign he hadn’t featured at all.
Usuthu now signed the midfielder on a deal until the end of the campaign with an option to extend.
“AmaZulu Football Club have concluded a deal with former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits midfielder, Ben Motshwari (32) for the remainder of the season with an option to renew at the end of the season,” the club stated.
Club president Sandile Zungu expressed his excitement about the new signing: “We welcome Ben into the team and trust that he will settle in well and make a good contribution in Pablo Franco’s side.”
Ben Motshwari will now look to adapt in Pablo Martin’s style of play since he is the current Amazulu Football Club Head Coach who has been lacking aggressiveness in the Amazulu Football Club Midfield since Makhehleni Makhaula left the club to join Orlando Pirates Football Club.
Ben Motshwari left Orlando Pirates Football Club for various reason since he got a lack of game time at the club and he has signed for a club which may offer him more deserved game time.
Ben Motshwari is an experienced defensive midfielder who was mostly used by Orlando Pirates back then when he was still performing and his position has undoubtedly been taken over by Miguel Timm who has been mostly recognized as one of the best Defensive Midfielders in South Africa if not the best Midfielder.
Amazulu Football Club CEO is delighted by the signing of Ben Motshwari as he is set to offer more value in the Amazulu Football Club Midfield.
