According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs FC are interested and linked with a DStv premiership goalkeeper. Chiefs are interested Salim Magoola of Richard Bay.
The Ugandan international goalkeeper has played eighteen games and managed to keep eleven cleansheets with his side Richard Bay. The cleansheets that he has kept, are making him to be one of the best in the league. However, it’s not only Kaizer Chiefs FC who are eying the twenty seven years old GK.
This might be good news to Amakhosi FC fans, but again, this news might leave Itumeleng Khune’s fans shaking, because he might not get a contract extension. If Salim Magoola joins Kaizer Chiefs FC, it means Amakhosi will have five goalkeepers; Itumeleng Khune, Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma, Bontle Molefe and him.
The question remains; will Chiefs management be able to pay five goalkeepers? Itumeleng Khune’s contact will expire at the end of the current season. He has been with the club from junior side since 90s, he is the longest serving player in South Africa. His dream is to play until he reaches forty years.
Khune played many games this season and also conceded lot of goals. He was dropped against Royal AM and Brandon Petersen started ahead of him. That also might be an indication that his days with Kaizer Chiefs FC are numbered.
Salim Magoola still has a contract of one year with Richards Bay. Amakhosi might wait for his contract to expire, then sign him. Again, the transfer window will close tomorrow at midnight. Which goalkeeper will leave Amakhosi to make a way for the Ugandan international goalkeeper?
Apart from that, Kaizer Chiefs FC football manager Bobby Motaung, made it clear that Amakhosi are not done when it comes to signing new players. Another question remains; which players will be signed by Amakhosi before the 31st of January 2023?
