Fees days ago, Kaizer Chiefs FC head coach Molefi Ntseki confirmed they (Kaizer Chiefs FC) are interested on signing Stellenbosch FC midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa. Ntseki said they will never turn down any quality player, and confessed that they will sign Mthethwa if there are resources for bringing him. Before Ntseki’s comment, it was reported by different publications that Chiefs offer to Stellenbosch about Mthethwa was rejected.
According to the reports, Stellenbosch wanted Chiefs to pay atleast fifteen million Rand for the service of Mthethwa. The player Mthethwa’s contract with Stellenbosch FC end when next season come to an end. However he has an option to extend his stay with The Stellies.
Few days hours after Ntseki’s confirmation, Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Baker was asked about Ntseki’s on Mthethwa. Though, Barker said Ntseki was not supposed to speak about that on the public, especially for a player who is part of a certain team. He said if he was coach Ntseki, he was not going to talk about that in the media.
He said he also want to have more players at his team but he said he contact his bosses and asks them to engage with the team such player is working at. Barker said Mthethwa is a very quality player and he has been giving out his best performances and Stellenbosch. He however said the reports suggesting that Ox is wanted in Naturena are just speculations.
Steve Barker was also asked if there is a team that has approached them about the services of Mthethwa. He shortly said, “no, not that I am aware of.”
Moreover, Mthethwa said he does not have a problem of joining any other team. His aim is just to work hard and feed his family. Most of Kaizer Chiefs FC fans want their team to have Mthethwa. The Chiefs supporter who is know for influencing, known by Man B, also requested Chiefs management to sign him before the registration period close. For a reminder, the registration period closes this coming Friday.
Steve Barker’s side, Stellenbosch FC played a goalless draw against Golden Arrows Fc and also, Kaizer Chiefs FC of head coach Molefi Ntseki players a zero – zero agaisnt Royal AM.
