Ninety five of Kaizer Chiefs FC were left impressed after the official statement that was released by their football manager Bobby Motaung. He confirmed and gave fans a hope that as a Kaizer Chiefs FC management, they will strengthen their squad next season. He just asked fans to wait for official announcements.
Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung was mum on the potential signing of Mduduzi Mdantsane, saying people must wait for an official announcement, but did reveal Amakhosi will “beef up” the squad for next season.
Chiefs have been heavily linked with the move for the Cape Town City all-time goal scorer, ho came close to signing for the club in January.
However, talks have been awash that Chiefs have signed Mdantsane in a three-year deal, with the move yet to be made public.
“We will make an announcement in the future,” Motaung replied to iDiski Times when asked about Mdantsane.
When pressed whether they have completed everything with Mdantsane, Motaung was unmoved in his response.
“We will make an announcement in the future. There are great things said to be revealed in future.”
It will be a reunion of note for Mdantsane as he was previously at Chiefs development structures in the past.
The other player that Chiefs have signed and did confirm in January is SuperSport United and Botswana defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, while they are also understood to have captured the signature of TS Galaxy captain and defender Given Msimango.
While Motaung was tight-lipped on Mdantsane’s impending arrival, he said Chiefs will go big in the market to support coach Arthur Zwane as they have multiple choices of playing in the CAF club competition next season.
Chiefs reached the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after overcoming Royal AM 2-1 in extra-time at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday. They will now meet Orlando Pirates in the Ke Yona Cup last four next month.
Lying fourth in the DStv Premiership standings, they are also chasing the second spot, which is occupied by Pirates and will secure qualification for the CAF Champions League.
The other route will be to finish third spot or win the Nedbank Cup, which would see them participate in the Confederation Cup.
“Obviously, we will always assemble the squad,” said Motaung.
“Obviously this season, as you can see, the team has been revamped and has a lot of youngsters, but we are beefing up the squad for next season.”
Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has also commented on the future of the club’s head coach Arthur 10111 Zwane with few games left before the curtain comes down on the season.
“We’ve assembled a new team, he’s a new coach, we need to give him time. And we need to build on what we started. So we believe in him, that’s why we have him here,” Motaung told the media.
“If we didn’t believe in him, we would never have given him a chance. I think we believed in him, and we have to help him and build the team with him, it’s about the future.
“I mean if you look at the team, I mean it’s a young team. We only can help him and support him with any support system that he needs or technical support, we’ll support him.
“But he’s definitely doing a good job as you can see. Even if he doesn’t win the Nedbank Cup his future is not in doubt.
