According to South African top and award winning journalist, Kaizer Chiefs FC have agreed terms with Colombian striker Efmamjjasond González on a season-long loan from Bolivian club Real Santa Cruz.
The 24-year-old striker who has been linked with moves to the Botola Pro in recent weeks is a product of the esteemed Atlético Nacional academy and was touted as a major prospect.
However, he didn’t quite break into the first team before he made a move to Argentina with San Lorenzo – where he then went on two separate loan moves.
But his move to Bolivia has sparked life in his career where he netted eight goals in the first 11 games of the season which attracted interest in North Africa.
However, iDiski Times can confirm Chiefs have agreed terms with Santa Cruz and the player for a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
The robust striker will now add further options to Chiefs attack with Ranga Chivaviro, while Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana could now be headed out despite head coach Molefi Ntseki stating he will form part of the first team squad.
Currently, Chiefs have Bimenyimana, Christian Saile, Edson Castillo, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe as foreign quota spots while Dove Edmilson is likely to have secured South African citizenship, having first arrived in the country in 2017 with Cape Town City.
Kaizer Chiefs FC will face Mamelodi Sundowns FC on Wednesday on the second league games for both teams.
In other news in case you missed it, after partying ways with Mamelodi Sundowns FC, midfielder Andile Jali has explained why he opted to join Moroka Swallows.
Jali, 33, joined Swallows on a two-year deal, the club confirmed on Friday in what many consider a major scoop for the Soweto Giants.
The former DStv Premiership Midfielder of the Season had left Sundowns after both parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract in May.
On Friday, he was unveiled by Swallows and revealed one of the main reasons for picking Swallows was his desire to stay in Johannesburg.
“I want to say thank you to the chairman first,” Jali stated on Gagasi FM.
“I’ve been waiting long until I signed the contract. I said to Mike ‘I don’t want to leave Joburg, so it’s better I’d be in Joburg’.
“That’s when Swallows came before they even thought I’m going to Swallows. Moroka Swallows is my new home, I’m so happy.
“And I’m so glad the club made the decision because the people believe in me.”
Swallows become Jali’s fifth club after stints at AmaTuks, Orlando Pirates, KV Oostende and Sundowns.
He becomes the first player to sign for the Soweto Giants since their name change from Swallows FC to Moroka Swallows FC.
