Botswana national team captain and Kaizer Chiefs FC deffender and captain Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has sent a message ahead of Nedbank cup clash after his side Amakhosi being fixtured with Milford FC.
Kaizer Chiefs FC defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has revealed that Amakhosi’s “only objective” for the rest of the season is to win the Nedbank Cup.
The Soweto giants were drawn against Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford, who currently sit in 12th place in the first division, in the Round of 32.
Chiefs are the clear favourites, especially since they received a home draw, with Ditlhokwe saying they really want to go all for the Ke Yona Cup.
“We don’t know much about them,” he said after the draw, as per the club’s media team.
“But at the end of the day, it is all about focusing on ourselves, preparing and remaining focused on our objective to win.
“Our only objective is to win this Cup, there’s nothing more. We have only one thing in our minds.”
Ditlhokwe also emphasised that the current crop of players are aiming to end the club’s nine-year trophy drought and don’t want to end the campaign without silverware.
“I can just say that this is the Cup that gives us hope. It is the last trophy for us to compete for this season,” he added.
“Despite giving our level best, we haven’t won anything yet. Hence, the Nedbank Cup is here now and it is all about focusing and working hard, going all out to put some silverware in the cabinet, because it would not be good for us to finish the season emptyhanded.”
