Early years
Edit Parker was born and raised in Reiger Park, a township in Gauteng near Boksburg. He excelled in short and long-distance running as well as swimming, and he represented Eastern Gauteng at the national level.
Parker began his professional football career with Thanda Royal Zulu in the Premier Soccer League, where he made 70 appearances before joining Serbian club Red Star Belgrade on a one-year loan. In 2009, he joined FC Twente in the Eredivisie, where he stayed for a season and a half before being loaned out to Panserraikos in the Greek Super League. Parker won the 2009-10 Eredivisie and the Johan Cruyff Shield during his time in the Eredivisie.
In 2011, he joined Kaizer Chiefs. He won the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot in 2013-14 and two league titles with the South African club, the Nedbank Cup and the MTN 8. Parker was released by Kaizer Chiefs in June 2022 after more than a decade with the club.
Parker, a School of Excellence graduate, made his professional debut for Cape Town’s Hellenic FC, which was later acquired and renamed Benoni Premier United. He stayed with Thanda Royal Zulu F.C. after the club changed its name again and relocated to Durban until early 2009, when he was granted a transfer to European Cup Winners Red Star Belgrade in Serbia. He had to leave Belgrade after learning that the team was experiencing cash flow problems and owed its players salaries. [4]
Parker joined FC Twente in July 2009 and was a member of the 2009-2010 Dutch Eredivisie-winning squad. When Twente manager Steve McClaren moved to the club, Parker was unable to persuade new coach Michel Preudhomme of his abilities.
Bernard Parker made his debut for his country’s team against Malawi in 2007, and he got his first goal there in 2008. In a 2-0 victory over New Zealand on June 17, 2009, during the 2009 Confederations Cup, he not only scored both goals but was also named Man of the Match. [12] He competed for South Africa at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but the squad was eliminated after the group stage. He also participated in the South African-hosted 2013 African Cup of Nations.
In a 2-1 loss to Ethiopia on June 16, 2013, Parker scored an own goal, ending South Africa’s chances of making the 2014 World Cup. He had put South Africa a 1-0 lead earlier in the game. [13] Parker added a goal by pitching in.

Background
South African footballer Bernard Parker represents Kaizer Chiefs as a striker or midfielder.
Young Bernard Parker displayed an interest in sports by participating in a range of games. Unlike most people, he recognized his gift at a young age and continued to develop it as an adult.
Prior to a one-year loan to Serbian team Red Star Belgrade, Parker began his professional football career with Thanda Royal Zulu in the Premier Soccer League, where he made 70 appearances.
He signed with Kaizer Chiefs in 2011, and since then, he has played in over 230 games and scored 41 goals for Amakhosi.
With the Amakhosi, he won two league championships, the Nedbank Cup, and the MTN 8, as well as the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot for the 2013–14 season.
Life outside of football
Start with his lovely family, which is unquestionably what matters most to Parker outside of football.
Parker isn’t available, which is unfortunate for the ladies. Since 2012, he has been wed to his longtime lover, Wendy Cherry. 170 guests attended their wedding, which was broadcast on SABC 3’s Top Billing.
The power couple first met and fell in love in 2005, before getting engaged. In their wedding attire of a cream suit and bridal gown, Bernard and Wendy looked stunning during the wedding ceremony in Ballito, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Jeff Seleka, a well-known celebrity designer, clothed the bride, and the couple left in a vintage 1962 Jaguar.
Children
The union of Parker and Wendy produced two children. The couple’s first son, Skye, was born in or around 2005, and their second son, Storm, was born in or around 2011.
Parker spends a lot of time with his kids, even though Wendy is his children’s full-time caregiver. Wendy stated in an interview that her husband is the best possible father figure she could have asked for.
She said he gives up things for the boys, picks them up from school, and spends a lot of time with them.
Family is important to him
From an early age, this was obvious. For instance, when Parker was 19 years old, he bought his mother a house with the proceeds from a football deal.
House and cars
The family resides in Johannesburg, and Top Billing once featured their house. The interior of the home boasts two-toned walls, cozy brown leather furniture, and a prep island in the center of the kitchen with dark wood cabinets.
He has a sizable garden outside where his sons practice their football techniques. They even have goal posts where they can practice shooting at their father.
Parker is a true petrol geek at heart, as evidenced by his unique automotive collection. His collection consists of:
BMW 325i or 320 (igusheshe).
