Kaizer Chiefs FC hosted Royal AM yesterday-noon in Peter Mokaba Stadium, where they defeated their visitors 2-0. Thanks to S’fiso Hlanti and Ashley Du Preez not excluding Keagan Dolly and Christian Saile Basomboli with their assists.
In as much as Amakhosi won the game, when it comes to injury bills, they were not lucky because their right backs had to go off due to serious injuries. Reeve Frosler who started the game as a right back, got a head injury after conclusion with Siyabonga Ngezana in early minutes, then we saw Dillon Solomons coming in.
Unfortunately, Solomons also got a serious injury in the last minutes, but head coach Arthur Zwane did not sub him with someone. This means ThIfe Glomour boys were down with ten-men in the field including the goalkeeper. Fans were shocked, because they thought the technical team could’ve given others a chance because only four subs were made; Dillon Solomons, Christian Saile Basomboli, Kgaogelo Sekgota and Phuthu Nange came as a subs, meaning only four subs were made.
According to the law, any team can make five substitutes in one game in three chances. A coach can stop the game only three times to make his five substitutes. Meaning he has three chances to make subs. You have to make five subs in three opportunities.
Meaning you can put two players(the first opportunity consumed), on the second opportunity, you put two players again(the second opportunity consumed) and put one player on the third opportunity. This says, five substitutes will be made in three opportunities.
We wish both Dillon Solomons and Reeve Frosler speed recoveries. Hopefully, Kaizer Chiefs FC media team will update fans about their injures this week. Chiefs will take on TS Galaxy on their next DStv premier league fixture.
