According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have apparently already signed three players as part of their recruitment push for the upcoming season.
Thatayaone Ditlhokwe of SuperSport United has already been signed by Chiefs, while the team is also said to have signed Given Msimango and Mduduzi Mdantsane.
At the conclusion of the previous season, Chiefs made a major purge, releasing some seasoned players, some of whom had spent a significant amount of time with the club without ever being able to lead Amakhosi to any success.
They are anticipated to go through a similar exodus, which may involve forcing a number of players through the escape door.
Zwane did not approach the Galaxy at that point despite Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi publicly declaring his willingness to work with the player and essentially encouraging teams like Chiefs to make an offer for the star.
Amakhosi club insiders confirmed to this magazine that Msimango’s association with the club was a media fabrication.
But as of right now, it appears that Chiefs have indeed captured their target—albeit at a significant cost to Galaxy.
Soccer-Laduma reports that Amakhosi intends to pay the Rockets upwards of R4 million in order to sign Msimango before Soweto rival Orlando Pirates. Given that the athlete won’t be 26 until May, that might well be a fair value.
