Kaizer Chiefs FC chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung did confirm that they are looking for a coach, that will start working when the current season end, during the next season, pre-season. Pitso Mosimane is the most wanted man at Chiefs, since Amakhosi fans are highly rating him. They believe he can lead The Glamour Boys back to the glory days they used to taste some couple of years ago.
Will Chiefs make a move for Pitso, following his recent views?
In a strategic move hinting at a potential shift to Kaizer Chiefs, Pitso Mosimane, currently unaffiliated with any club, emphasises the importance of shared visions between him and the team.
Mosimane also recently opened up about two major transfer misses at Mamelodi Sundowns, showcasing his ability to scout quality players too.
Pitso’s openness to Chiefs move
Discussing his future, Mosimane expressed openness to a move to Amakhosi, provided there is alignment in their aspirations. Notably, he not only praised the Glamour Boys but also signalled receptiveness for the club’s management to approach him.
In a recent interview with KayaFM’s T-Boss, Mosimane showcased his professionalism, stating, “I’ll go anywhere, I’m a professional. As long as you show me the vision and we are aligned, any team I’ll go work for it.”
He highlighted his track record of elevating teams, including bringing Saudi Arabian giant Al Ahli back to the Premier League.
When questioned about Kaizer Chiefs, Mosimane, reflecting on his deep childhood affinity for the club, exclaimed, “You ask me about Kaizer Chiefs, what an institution! I mean, I supported the team when I was young.”
The seasoned coach expressed readiness to return to coaching in January after a family-focused December break, leaving the door ajar for a potential collaboration with Chiefs.
Amidst these discussions, it’s noteworthy that Amakhosi recently parted ways with Molefi Ntseki, leading to the appointment of Cavin Johnson as an interim coach.
Simultaneously, Mosimane, having left UAE’s Al-Wahda this month, stands as a free agent in the coaching arena.
The ball is in Chiefs court with Mosimane initiating this discourse, the ball is now in Kaizer Chiefs’ court.
The question lingers: will the Chiefs seize the opportunity and explore a partnership with the esteemed coach?
The stage is set for potential developments as we watch to see if Chiefs will respond to Mosimane’s forward-looking proposition.
“And if Pitso goes to Chiefs, 65% of Sundowns fans are coming back to their mother team.” – says Chiefs fans.
At the moment, Chiefs is led by the interim coach Cavin Johnson, who was appointed after the departure of the previous head coach, Molefi Ntseki. For just a reminder, Ntseki was appointed as a head coach last season, after the management parting ways with Arthur Zwane. The current coach has won three games since taking over.
He started his win by beating Capetown Spurs FC 3-2, he then latter beat Moroka Swallows FC 1-0, and beat Polokwane City FC 1-0. Chiefs will play the next game on the 23th of December this year.
