Fans are questioning themselves regarding the update of Mamelodi Sundowns FC current midfielder. There are many reports suggesting that Jali might leave Sundowns at the end of the season.
Mazola molefe who is an SABC SPORTS reporter said that Andile Jali Showed up to training intoxicated and he was given a week off by the team. But Andile Jali decided to not return to Chloorkop for training after a week.
Mazola further said that there was an issue with contract concerning Andile Jali package. In short Jali was not willing to take a pay cut should he renew his Contract.
SABC Sport Journalist Mazola Molefe;
“It’s likely Andile Jali will be playing his football elsewhere next Season and not at Sundowns ” he told Andile Ncube on MetroFM.
Moreover, Mamelodi Sundowns FC did something strange last days by not wishing Jali a happy day during his birthday as they are always doing to the rest of senior team players.
Jali’s agent did confirm in January that they are negotiating with Mamelodi Sundowns FC for a new contract, but at the moment, things are not looking good.
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali’s agent, Mike Makaab, has provided an update on the contract negotiations between the player and the club.
“At the moment we are involved in negotiations with Sundowns and again I’m going to say this, we hope we can conclude these negotiations sooner than later,” Makaab said on Monday.
“But we can only push this as quickly as we can without it being pushed to a point where it’s not natural.
“I’ve said before that the best deals are those that unfold naturally and I think this one will unfold naturally, whichever way it goes.”
“If they don’t want Andile they must let us know,” he said then. “And we have to respect that and move on.
“There are a number of teams who have inquired about him, not only locally but outside our borders.
Andile Jali is one of the most loved players in South Africa. His fan is one of the top analyser known as Junior Khanye. Here is the statement he used to share about Jali;
“Sundowns needed Jali and now Rulani must think ahead. Not that I support what Jali did and Sundowns are good but in this tournament one mistake you will get punished,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.
“You need Andile Jali because this is another level, you need experience. There was a lapse in concentration against Al Hilal so Sundowns needs experience.
“In games like that one Jali would have come in and bullied the midfield. “So put in Andile Jali now, even in the DStv Premiership so that he gets his fitness back. Then you can have both him and Mokoena play together in this tournament.
“Jali can play box-to-box, while the boy plays number 6 to simplify things.”
“If you want to win this tournament you need Jali. Sundowns is still going to face Al Ahly in the knockouts [should they qualify] and they need Jali.
Apart from that, former Bafana Bafana defender Matthew Booth has told coach Hugo Broos to “just keep quiet” following his public justification of snubbing Mamelodi Sundowns stars Andile Jali and Themba Zwane from the national team.
“If a player doesn’t suit your style then just keep quiet, ” Booth told the media.
“You don’t have to explain yourself, because ultimately those players are listening and you don’t wanna hurt players in that regard.
“They are both really strong characters, really experienced, they’ve had a great season, they’ve won the treble and so I don’t think it will be too much in that regard.
“From an ego point of view, they must be wanting to get back in the team and prove him wrong.”
