Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefe Ntseki has explained the exclusion of Tebogo Potsane and Mduduzi Mdantsane from the game against Royal AM.
The duo was noticeable absent in the goalless draw with Royal AM on Saturday after they’ve both featured in almost every game this season, with Potsane already having two assists in the campaign, while Mdantsane has set up one goal.
Ntseki explained to the media that rotation was needed, especially because they are among the players who played most of the games in this season.
“We are doing a very important technical rotation of our players and also it depends on the approach for the day,” Ntseki told the media.
When you look at Potsane and Mdu Mdantsane they’ve been playing all the games that we had this season and unfortunately the level of freshness was very important the part to look at.”
“So we were giving fresher players the opportunity today. So Mdu Mdantsane and Potsane, they’ve been part of the training session this week, even today they are training in preparing for the next matches.
“A rotation is important because if ever you don’t get to play for too long and then you are going to have challenges, either suspension or injuries. Then you have a player who’s not ready to play.
“So I think they’ve done very well in the last past matches but today we gave other players a chance. And I think they did very well.
“It is a fair competition that we have for the first 11 or to be in the first 20.”
Tebogo Potsane has been mostly recognized as a key player in the Kaizer Chiefs Squad because he adds more value and balance going forward, while Mdu has also been seen as a good player but his performance has dropped.
Kaizer Chiefs player Tebogo Potsane might make a star against Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club in the MTN 8.
