Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo who is struggling with the gametime at Amakhosi has broken his silence.
Njabulo Ngcobo has joined Kaizer Chiefs in July 2021 he signed three-year deal with Amakhosi which expires this year in June, so the player is rumored with an exit.
Ngcobo was named the PSL Defender of the Season in 2021 when he was playing for Moroka Swallows unfortunately things did not work well at Chiefs, because he is not playing at Chiefs.
But so far, Ngcobo’s time at Chiefs has not exactly gone as planned. Throughout his two and a half years at Naturena, the player has not consistently been in the starting lineup. This gave rise to rumors that the club would sell him at the beginning of the current campaign.
He made the decision to stay and fight despite the fact that the signings of Given Msimango and Thatoayane Dithlokwe only made things worse. That appears to have paid off because he has occasionally been able to get a start.
Ngcobo was optimistic about his future at the Chiefs, even though he only had six months left on his contract.
“For me, I think because I’m still here, then it’s still good. I don’t have any regrets over why I chose to come to Chiefs. I think I’m at the right team to grow and move forward. As a boy that comes from the rurals, it takes us quite a while to get here. I think it won’t be long until the old days return. I think for me, especially, it’s been out learning each day. Playing for a big team like Kaizer Chiefs, you have to learn a lot of things, little by little until you get them. Right now, I’m starting to see where the road is headed, so I think I will get back to the level I was at Swallows.” Concluded Ngcobo speaking to KickOff.com.
Whether the Chiefs will extend an offer to Ngcobo at the end of the current campaign is still to be seen. especially as newly signed player Luke Fleurs gets ready to make his team debut.
