A defender for Kaizer Chiefs is scheduled to depart the team at the end of the current campaign due to a contract expiration and insufficient playing time.
Njabulo Ngcobo, a defender for Kaizer Chiefs, is probably going to leave the team at the end of the current campaign.
By the end of the current season, Njabulo Ngcobo, the 2020–21 DStv Premiership defender of the season, may be leaving Kaizer Chiefs.
The Citizen website, has learned from a source close to the player that Ngcobo’s Chiefs contract is scheduled to expire in June, and negotiations for a new agreement have not yet started.
The source added that since the player has lost favor with Amakhosi, it is unlikely that the team will keep him on. After an outstanding season with Moroka Swallows, where he made 28 league appearances and assisted the Dube Birds in finishing sixth in their first season back in the top flight, Ngcobo joined Chiefs in July 2021.
In addition, he defeated competitors like Thapelo Morena and Rushine De Reuck to win the PSL awards for defender of the season. For the 29-year-old, though, things have not gone well at the Chiefs.
Because he found it difficult to adjust to life at Naturena, he fell behind players like Daniel Cardoso, Erick Mathoho, and Siyabonga Ngezana in the hierarchy. Currently, he is behind Given Msimango, Zitha Kwinika, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, and Edmilson Dove.
Additionally, the source disclosed that the Chiefs are not happy with Ngcobo’s performance or attitude and plan to let him go at the end of the season. Although Ngcobo’s future whereabouts are unknown, his caliber and experience suggest that he may find employment with multiple parties.
He may also decide to go back to Swallows, where he had the most success during his PSL career. In order to resurrect his career and regain his form, Ngcobo will be looking to join a new club.
