KAIZER CHIEFS’ NEW SIGNINGS
The Botswana national team captain’s signing was announced by the club in January. He moves to Naturena during the pre-season.
Chiefs then signed Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City on a three-year deal.
Although Chiefs will only announce at the end of the season, he is also due to link up with his teammates during the off-season.
In an effort to strengthen the defence, Chiefs also added Given Msimango to their dressing room from TS Galaxy.
The arrival of two centre-backs has seemingly spelt an end to the Chiefs career of a defender who has been at the club for 12 years.
ERIC MATHOHO’S 11-YEAR STAY AT NATURENA OVER
Eric Mathoho
FARPost can reveal that Eric Mathoho has been made aware that he is not part of the club’s plans for next season.
Mathoho is out of contract in June, and the 33-year-old has hardly featured this season under Coach Arthur Zwane.
The former Bafana Bafana defender has only played once this season in the Carling Black Label Cup when fans voted for him.
“He’s now aware that he will not be at the club next season after it was communicated to him. He hasn’t played much under Arthur Zwane and the signs were there for all to see,” a Kaizer Chiefs source told FARPost.
Mathoho joined Chiefs from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012 after being unearthed by Owen da Gama.
He went on to make 259 appearances for Chiefs, making him one of the most experienced players in the current Amakhosi squad.
TOWER’S INJURY WOES
‘Tower’ scored 26 goals in the process, only assisting once in all competitions.
He also featured 34 times for Bafana Bafana and found the target once.
Mathoho will be looking to continue his football elsewhere once he parts ways with Chiefs. However, he will be fighting to get over his injury woes after recently revealing how he got injured.
“The way I got my injury, we were playing a friendly match with the DDC team [reserve side]. I was sprinting, and I was trying to tackle the ball. The way I landed was bad,” said Mathoho.
“I couldn’t point if it was groin or hamstring injury because my leg was painful. After that, I went for a scan.
“I’ve been out for three weeks now. I feel much better. I’m not feeling it [pain] anymore.”

Another player who is on his way out is Phathutshedzo Nange who joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2021/2022 season with him playing a vital role in Coach Stuart Baxter’s team at the start of the season.
However as the games went by Phathutshedzo Nange started fading away and was replace in the Kaizer Chiefs Lineup as a regular though he got some minutes but it was not enough for the midfielder.
Nanfe who has been struggling with injuries this season is on his way out with his contract coming to an end and it’s believed his agent has been informed that there’s no intention to renew the Midfielders contract.
Nange came to Kaizer Chiefs with reach history especially his ability to hit rockets from range However Nange has only managed to score just 1 Goal as a Kaizer Chiefs player a goal which came against Sekhukhune United in December 2021 which he was setup by Midfielder Nkosingphile Ngcobo.
Cole Alexander is another player who is facing an unlikely future with the Soweto Giants as chances of him being with the soweto giants next season continue being slimmer every passing season.
Cole Alexander joined Kaizer Chiefs from India as he followed his then Coach Stuart Baxter who was sacked last season by the Club,Cole Alexander has found game time hard to come at the Club while injuries have also not been easy on him and he is currently out injured though he has started jogging.
Indications are that Cole Alexander might have his Kaizer Chiefs contract terminated as he is also one of the oldest players in the squad adding no value due to injuries and he is out of favor with the young Samkelo Zwane also breaking through the development ranks.
