The most recent reports indicate that there may be several transfers between Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu during this transfer window.
Due to issues arising from the Siyethemba Sithebe scandal, Chiefs and AmaZulu have not had the best of relations when it comes to transfer negotiations.
It was reported two years ago in this same month that the Chiefs had finalized a pre-contract agreement to sign AmaZulu’s Sithebe. The issue started when Usuthu asserted that Amakhosi handled the matter unscrupulously. They said that they did not give the team a notice letter before signing the dreadlocked midfield player.
The Glamour Boys had tried to sign the player in January, but had been unsuccessful, so he was left on the bench for the duration of the second half of the season.
It has now been reported that the Chiefs are interested in signing Siphesihle Maduna, which could lead to a situation similar to this one. Paradoxically, Pablo Martin, the coach of AmaZulu, has not included him in his plans since his arrival, which has also kept him out of action.
According to rumors that surfaced late last year, Amakhosi had already reached a pre-agreement with the player and may even complete a player swap in which their youthful striker Wandile Duba would be sent to the other team for a six-month loan. Beyond that, there is believed to be one more startling development in the works.
Sporting-Laduma reports that AmaZulu is considering bringing Sithebe back from Chiefs, where he has fallen entirely out of favor this season.
The cessation of the Duba rumors may open the door for Sithebe to be included in a possible trade or even a straight deal involving the Chiefs and AmaZulu later this month.
