SuperSport United defender Thatoyaone ‘TT’ Ditlhokwe has revealed what his soon to be former teammate Thulani Hlatswayo said to him when he found about the former’s move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The Botswana national team captain signed a pre-contract with Amakhosi six months ago and will be a Chiefs player starting next month. He will become the second player from his country to play for Chiefs since Terence Mophuting in 1989.

‘TT’ as Ditlhokwe is affectionately known played 29 matches for Matsatsantsa in all competitions in the recently concluded season, scoring two goals in the league to help SuperSport finish third in the league and subsequently qualify for the CAF Confederations Cup.

He told iDiski Times senior Writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 106 of the newspaper about a chat with former Orlando Pirates defender Hlatswayo, who gave him some advice on what to expect when joining a big team.

“The talk was all about the challenge, the pressure, the expectations, which are coming in the journey that I’m about to embark on in a few months,” Ditlhokwe told SSNEWS.

“So you see Tyson has captained Bafana Bafana, he has played at Wits and captained Wits. So he knows he has been there.

“He knows what is expected. He knows the challenges which will come so it was a privilege to have someone like him this season, so that I can learn from him what is expected and what comes with the so-called big teams.”
