Kaizer Chiefs defender secretly signs a pre contract with arch rivals.
SSnews has been reliably informed that there’s allegedly a Kaizer Chiefs player who has signed a pre contract with a rival Club, with the PSL season fast approaching the end, alot of Kaizer Chiefs players contracts are due to end, and most are in their final five months at the Club.
According to FIFA a player is allowed to sign a pre contract with a Club of his choice, once the contract has six months remaining making it legal for a player to sign elsewhere, with only 6 months remaining in his current Club contract.
“Kaizer Chiefs have a number of players whose contracts are due at the end of the season”, the Club is yet to give communication on whether some players will receive new contracts or will be let go.
Kaizer Chiefs currently have Keagan Dolly whose contract is in his last six months, Keagan Dolly joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2021 from France Football Club Montpellier, the tricky winger has featured for Kaizer Chiefs for more than 50games since joining the Club.
The nippy winger has scored over 10goals for Kaizer Chiefs, and has been an influential figure in the Kaizer Chiefs squad as he is one of the Clubs captains, though its not clear if it’s true or not, Kaizer Chiefs is believed to have an option on extending Keagan Dolly’s contract.
The nippy winger’s Kaizer Chiefs career has been huddled by injuries, as he doesn’t seem to get any rest with niggles and ankle injuries every now and then, it is one of the reasons his progress in France was disturbed.
“Another player who is in his last 6 months in George Matlou”, Matlou who joined Kaizer Chiefs from Moroka Swallows has failed to cemenr his place in the Kaizer Chiefs starting 11, he has featured for Kaizer Chiefs in more than 20games but yet to score for Amakhosi, late last year it was rumoured that he was set to get a new contract, but the changing of new coaches may inpact that development.
At the time of coach Molefi Ntseki’s sacking, George Matlou was starting to be a prominent figure in Coach Molefi Ntseki’s team featuring regularly and getting decent minutes, however since interim coach Cavin Johnson took over Matlou is yet to feature for the club.
Kaizer Chiefs left back Sifiso Hlanti is also one of the players in his final 5 months at the Club, Sifiso Hlanti who joined Kaizer Chiefs from Swallows is unlikely to get a new contract in Naturena,as Kaizer Chiefs management are working hard behind the scenes to get a new Left Back for the Club, Sifiso Hlanti has also been a regular for Kaizer Chiefs this season and has 12games in his belt this season for Kaizer Chiefs.
The former Bidvest Wits centre back is an experienced player, who also has more than 10 caps for the South African National team Bafana Bafana, his reliability and consistency is what puts him in the top 10best left backs in the PSL.
Another player whose future looks bleak, is former Moroka Swallows Centre Back Njabulo Ngcobo who is a former Defender of the season, Njabulo Ngcobo joined Kaizer Chiefs from Swallows in 2021 after stella season with Moroka Swallows, finishing 5th with the Swallows side.
Njabulo Ngcobo was then crowned PSL defender of the season, which saw Kaizer Chiefs move quickly to secure his services on a three years contract, the KZN born defender is in his last five months at the Club and it looks unlikely he will receive a new contract, Kaizer Chiefs has already signed Former SuperSport United defender Luke Fleurs, who has also won the PSL young player of the season and is dubbed to have a bright future ahead of him.
Kaizer Chiefs have a number of options at centre back, they have top players such as Given Msimango,Thatoyane Dithlokwe,Edmilson Dove,Zitha Kwinika,Luke Fleurs and its highly likely that Njabulo Ngcobo will be let go so that his wages opens up options in the transfer market.
Though it’s not clear which player signed a pre contract it’s believed that, one of the players has signed for Kaizer Chiefs PSL rivals.
