Prior to the second half of the season, Kaizer Chiefs are rumored to be prepared to let go of a few players.
Chiefs are currently in sixth place in the standings after a generally lackluster first half of the season.
The fact that they would be looking to make some changes to their squad would then not be surprising. Although Cavin Johnson, the interim coach, has frequently hinted to the media that he won’t be entering the market, it is thought that the Chiefs are thoroughly investigating the market. The rumored upcoming departure of Keletso Makgalwa from Upington FC is evidence of that.
If the Chiefs actually proceed with that transfer, it would contradict the public narrative that Johnson has promoted. A portion of it has come from coaching the same team for the second half of the season.
Nevertheless, that is about to change as the team has made five players available for loan deals this window, per Soccer-Laduma. Happy Mashiane, Aiden McCarthy, Sabelo Radebe, Wandile Duba, and Samkelo Zwane are on the list.
“The (Chiefs) technical team together with management are looking at the young players who they want to loan out so that they can gain experience and game time. When they come back they can be able to help the team. It’s no use keeping them at the team while they are not playing. It’s quite a number of them but the list will be finalised soon. If possible some could leave in January while others at the end of the season as it will also depend on clubs interested in them,” said the source to the same publication.
