Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has revealed that Siyabonga Ngezana felt he wanted to take up a new challenge after joining Romanian giants FCSB.
Ngezana, 25, will join the 26-time Liga 1 winners seven years after breaking into the senior team at Naturena.
He joins the club, formerly known as Steaua Bucharesti for an undisclosed fee, becoming the second Chiefs academy product to move overseas in the last six month.
“There is always a tinge of sadness when a player who has risen through the ranks here leaves the Club,” Kaizer Jr. told the club’s media team.
“However, Siya has had a good and substantial career at Kaizer Chiefs and feels the time is right to take up a new challenge.
“We appreciate his wholehearted commitment to Amakhosi and wish him well on his exciting adventure to Europe.”
Ngezana made 123 appearances for Chiefs since making his debut in a 3-0 win over AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout Cup in October 2017.
He featured 23 times under Arthur Zwane during the 2022/23 campaign and will now feature in the UEFA Conference League with his new club.
It has also been revealed that Siyabonga Ngezana will sign a 3 year contract with the Romanian club and it has been found that the club with play in the Eufa Conference League next season.
It has been confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs Football Club signed Thatayaone Ditlhokwe because the club management knew that Siyabonga Ngezana will leave the club at the end of the season and it has been said that there is no other replacement for Siyabonga Ngezana than Thatayaone Ditlhokwe who is the captain of the Botswana national team.
Siyabonga Ngezana is set to leave South Africa before the end of June to join the Romanian side in their first training session.
According to a source,Siyabonga Ngezana will undergo learning the Romanian Languages on his first day.
