Kaizer Chiefs player has attracted an interest from Middle East club after impressive performances at Chiefs and international squad.
It is thought that a Middle Eastern club is keeping tabs on one of the key Kaizer Chiefs players. Edmilson Dove, a regular player, may be lost as the Chiefs look to make changes to their roster.
Since signing with the Chiefs on a free agent last season, Dove has been one of the team’s most reliable players. Over the past 15 months, the adaptable defender has excelled for Amakhosi at both left and center back.
He and Zitha Kwinika, another recent addition, appeared to be the team’s preferred center back duo during the previous season. Both players kept clean sheets in the Soweto Derby for Chiefs, with Dove emerging victorious in both contests as Man of the Match.
The Mozambican international suffered an early injury that ended his first season with the team. Prior to the current campaign, he was hurt in an away preseason match against Yanga FC. He was able to regain his starting spot after his return, and he hasn’t looked back.
Before they were eliminated on Monday, his country’s performance earned him a starting spot in the AFCON. However, recent reports suggest that Dove may have already done enough to draw interest from overseas suitors.
“Edmilson Dove had a good start at the Africa Cup of Nations with his inspiring performance for the national team of Mozambique as they drew 2-2 with Egypt in the opening match last weekend. It might still be early in the tournament, but the player has already impressed scouts from some of the clubs from around the world. There are scouts from a club in Saudi Arabia that are following the player seriously and you can expect them to make an offer for his services after the tournament as long as he continues to do well,” said the source to Soccer-Laduma.
