Kaizer Chiefs star facing an unlikely future at the Club.
Kaizer Chiefs Midfielder George Matlou is facing uncertainty at the Club after the departure of coach Molefi Ntseki, it has been revealed that intentions were underway to give George Matlou a new contract, after coach Molefi Ntseki instructed the management to give him a new contract.
But things seem to have taken an incredible turn after the sacking of coach Molefi Ntseki, George Matlou who has played in Europe has been told by management that talks have to be frozen for now.
George Matlou has found game time hard to come since joining the Club from Moroka Swallows last season, the skilful Midfielder was starting to come to life under coach Molefi Ntseki but it seems like he is no longer rated by coach Calvin Johnson, and the Club will wait for a feedback from the incoming coach to give a new mandate with regards to his career.
George Matlou who is yet to score at Chiefs knows for his nickname long and short, which sterms as motivation for his younger brother who got his leg amputated seeing him wearing the socks long and the other short.
George Matlou can play multiple positions in Midfield, but based on his career abroad, he was mostly used as a number eight to help the team play.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for George Matlou.
A well known analyst #Sambo on Facebook, gave his own views with regards to George Matlou.
“George Matlou has to realise he plays for Kaizer Chiefs, a team that has not won a trophy for 8years the pressure is huge, while i have no doubts about his qualities as a player I’m concerned about his attitude in the game, he needs to take his game to a new level have a sort of strength in his game and consistency, he has got a lot of potential but i feel like sometimes he doesn’t live up to his potential, and we must note potential doesn’t automatically mean success, he will have to work very hard if he wants to have a name for himself at the Club” said analyst #Sambo
Based on his current form do you believe George Matlou deserves a new contract at Chiefs?
