Football Career
Mphela, a Jomo Cosmos product, played for Stade de Reims and RC Strasbourg Alsace in France, however neither team had much success.
After arriving back home, he played for SuperSport United in 2007–2008 before switching to Mamelodi Sundowns the following year.
When the 2009–10 season was over, he had scored 17 goals in 30 games, which made him the league’s leading goal scorer. The PSL Players’ Player of the Season award went to him, and he also received the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot.
