Mamelodi Sundowns Supporter Thabiso Motloung has issued serious allegations against Mamelodi Sundowns for stealing his idea.
A starting attack by @Iyzo8 on Twitter Handle reads as follows.
It’s been over a month now since I posted this “cryptic” tweet & a lot has happened & not happend since then. I have kept quiet to protect the image of the club I’ve been in love with since I was 10 years old but my hand is being forced now.
Thread
On the 7th January 2020 I sent Ms Kylie Isdale now Mrs Dunywa (the club’s brand & marketing manager) a proposal “MSFC TV”. Why am I mentioning this? Well I want to show how that proposal was handled compared to the recent one I sent to the club “Pitch Side With Sundowns”..
A day later (8th January 2020) I received a response from Kylie which I really appreciated even though it wasn’t what I wanted to hear.
Fast forward to where we are. 14 June 2022 I sent a different proposal, “Pitch Side With Sundowns” to Kylie. There was no response from her side, I followed up & she eventually responded.
NB: Her response that I highlighted.
What then followed was a string of follow up emails from my side that were met with dead silence.
The week leading up to our MTN8 1st leg semifinal vs Pirates late last year I saw that the club had a new show on YouTube but what shocked me was what it was about(the content).
It was 95% of what I had proposed to the club. They went with a different name though. I decided to keep quiet. Fast forward to late February this year, I’m watching YouTube videos & “The Pitchside Podcast” pops up on my TV screen & I’m puzzled, shook & hurt by what I see..
The club that I love so much has taken & implemented a proposal I sent to them WITHOUT talking to me when I CLEARLY stated what I want out of this.
In my very emotional state I then decided to post that “cryptic” tweet & call my big brother Thabo who is a lawyer by profession..
I tell him everything. He suggests that I send him all communication between Kylie & I.I do so & after going through it he sends me an email draft that I should respond with to Kylie’s last email & suggests that I cc the chairman & Mr Yogesh Singh. I immediately do so…
2 days later (24th February 2023) just before noon I received a call from Mr Yogesh Singh who was in Egypt with the club for our match vs Al Ahly.
We had a very friendly chat and I agreed to meet on the 1st of March 2023 to discuss this whole matter …
On 1 March 2023 my brother Thabo & I met with Mr Yogesh Singh, Mr Shupi Nkgadima & Mr Stanley Mabulu (Club Director).
We had a 2 hour meeting in very good spirits, with absolutely 0 hostility from all parties.
The meeting was really good as I also received so much advice from the 3 gentlemen that I really appreciated.
Take aways from the meeting:
1. The club said they understood why I was so aggrieved because of the picture in front of everyone but at the same time said this could…
have been one of the many projects that they could have already been working on. IF so, why wasn’t it communicated to me from the onset the same way my MSFC TV proposal was by the very same person I had sent it to?🚩
The name. Yes the club “asked” the fans to suggest.
a name for the show through the host & his panel. We then raised a point that someone within the club could’ve shared the name with someone outside & told them to suggest it on twitter to which the 3 gentlemen agreed that it is probable.
2. I had CLEARLY stated what I want out.
the proposal, which is for the club to afford me the opportunity to be part of the proposed project.
At the end of the meeting the club said I should send them my CV & “AND LET US SEE WHAT WE CAN DO, WE’LL GET BACK TO YOU”.
I did that.
Over a month later the club has still not honoured their word or responded to any of my communication.
I feel compelled to let the public know what kind of situation I find myself in.
I kept to my end of the bargain because of my deep love for this club yet I’m clearly the 1 wronged.
I’ve kept quiet to protect the image of the club.I turned down numerous interviews from different media platforms. Not even once did I bash the club on my YouTube channel but.
the club I love dearly continues to let me down over and over again. Those who know me personally will tell you how much I love Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club.
I was attacked by certain parts of our fanbase & I understood because when it comes to Sundowns many of us re thiba kadi bono, something I’ve also done in the past. We don’t want a bad thing said about our club.
I’ve also received support from those who know.
me personally or through social media. Which I appreciate. I’ve noticed that almost every time the club posts about “Pitchside Podcast” I get tagged by those in my support & there are negative responses to the club or the host & his panel is tagged.
which doesn’t sit well with me as Dona, Hlompho & Shuga did nothing wrong to me. They are employees of the club and just doing what they are paid for.
Sadly it doesn’t seem like this will end until we reach a solution. The podcast will always attract negativity from those who.
feel I was hard done by.
I’ve been really hurt by all this. You my love @Masandawana did me REALLY DIRTY.
I hope we find a solution to this because I’m NOT backing down.

Mamelodi Sundowns then further released the following statement responding to the allegations.
Dear Thabiso
The Club is surprised & shocked by your public accusations. We want to understand where these allegations come from.
We’d like to give you the opportunity to share your full proposal on the next episode of The Pitchside Podcast.
We look forward to your response.
