Since the starting of the current season, Kaizer Chiefs FC fans wanted to see Golden Arrows winger Pule Mmodi in their colours. However, it seems like Kaizer Chiefs FC technical team wanted him too, because he was later linked with the Naturena side.
Kaizer Chiefs FC attempted to sign Pule Mmodi, but the problem was to break a bank. On the previous transfer / registration period (January from 1 to the 31st) many things happened to Mmodi. He was also linked up with a move to Orlando Pirates FC, but he was not interested. His coach made it clear that they are open to sell him, if any team is willing to pay.
“Maybe I have to make this clear that if there is an opportunity for the club to make money, Pule [Mmodi] will be sold. Pule can leave the club at anytime.”
Just hours before January transfer window getting closed, we were told that many things relating to his transfer happened to. Orlando Pirates FC made an attempt to sign him, after their decision to loan Ntsako Makhubela back to Golden Arrows. Unfortunately, Pule Mmdoi rejected Orlando Pirates FC daylight. The analysers warned him not to sign even just a sheets because his signature would be forged.
Here are the reasons why Kaizer Chiefs FC fans and Orlando Pirates FC fans wanted Pule Mmodi;
1. He has many take ons.
2. He is one of the wingers with most successful dribbles.
3. Last season, he was the winger with the most goals.
4. Last season, he won three penalties for Golden Arrows.
5. He is one of the wingers with most man of the matches awards.
Both Chiefs and Pirates fans believes that if he starts from the bench, or playing if others are injured will make a huge difference and close a huge gap, that will be opened by Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly at Chiefs and Monnapule Saleng at Pirates. During his first season, he scored five goals and assisted three.
It seems like Kaizer Chiefs FC fans dream to see Pule Mmodi playing for Chiefs, won’t happen. This is because he already has thirty years. Head coach Arthur Zwane is not interested in signing players with his age. He didn’t even sign a pre – contact with Amakhosi.
