Kaizer Junior interview at Radio 2000 today touched on;
Do you want to build a team of transition football?
1. Kaizer: chiefs is a big team who have the history of position, and playing entertaining football, but football is a game of methods and results a team can do transition to score goals it’s actually up to the coach on how he plan to get results.
Would you sign Khanyisa Mayo and Junior Mendieta?
Kaizer Jr Motaung:
“Comitics said that Mayo is not for sale now and we respect that but he is a great player thou, as mendieta he is a great player as well, a quality one, he is useful at Stellenbosch FC, they play him they use his qualities as the technical team we can refer players but the coach have to approve if he want to use those players or if he need them, bringing up mendieta have to be a collective decision plus the negotiations between two clubs
“Daniel Cardoso is unfortunate, we don’t really reply on our former players comments or employees but what Daniel has said is unfortunate he was with us for 7 seasons with the experience which he has , playing almost every game and won us nothing for 7 years , I just wish him the best on his new team, anyway who am I to go down to the level of Daniel Cardoso.
“As for bringing quality players, we want to bring players who play for their national teams, are leaders( captains) in their clubs.
“We are definitely going to look at the left back position we will get someone. We are going to discuss the future about Khama Billiat, Eric Tower Mathoho and Itumeleng Khune.
And some players are going to leave the club. Most players will leave the club due to injuries are following;
Eric Mathoho.
Phathutzedzo Nange.
Cole Alexander.
Kamoheko Mahlatsi.
Sabelo Radebe.
Happy Mashiane.
Caleb Bimenyimana.
In case you missed it, here is what Daniel Cardoso said about youngsters;
Cardoso: Chiefs cannot win anything with young players.
Sekhukhune United vice-captain Daniel Cardoso has cast doubt over Kaizer Chiefs being capable of winning silverware this season.
“I don’t want to open up a can of worms but youngsters are not going to win you titles or trophies,” Cardoso said when asked about beating Chiefs in the first round of the league.
“They are in a rebuilding phase as you can see, Zwane, Shabalala, [Happy] Mashiane, [Siyabonga] Ngezana, they got rid of all the experienced players. If you look at Sundowns’ team, they have experienced players which is why the win trophies season in, season out.
“I think he’s got a good foundation going there, but to win titles and trophies, you need far more experience, especially on the field. I mean they have quite a few experienced players sitting in the stands and at home and it’s been missed for them.”
Cardoso also used to say some of Kaizer Chiefs FC players are joining training sessions under the influence of alcohol. But some expects reply him. David Kannemeyer is one of the people who answered what he said last year after parting ways with Amakhosi;
“I have read the comments by the player and, in my opinion, it is careless, especially now that he has left the club,” Kannemeyer said.
“As a senior player, he should have addressed the issue with the concerned player at the time, then he wouldn’t have to speak about it in the media afterward as it would have been dealt with.”
“When you are at a big club like Chiefs, such matters are handled internally and not in the public eye. Therefore, I think the comments made by him as a bit childish.”
“Is it the truth? We don’t know. These things did not happen during our time. There are two sides to this, we could also say that it is a bitter pill for him to swallow now that he is no longer at the club, therefore, he feels the need to speak out like this.”
