Kaizer Chiefs FC fans have been wondering for an update regarding the former Supersport United deffender who also played abroad, Luke Fleurs. The former Supersport United player is a free agent, after parting ways with Matsantsa a Pretoria couple of weeks ago.
After parting ways with United, Fleurs was spotted training with Kaizer Chiefs FC, however, he has been training with Amakhosi even though he is yet to win himself a contract in Naturena. Amakhosi fans wan their favourite team to sign the left center back to compete with the Botswana international and the former Supersport United captain and deffeder Thatayaone Ditlhokwe .
As we report, Luke Fleurs is still training with Kaizer Chiefs although there has not been communication on whether the club would give him a contract.
“I don’t have much to say now except that Fleurs is still on training with Chiefs and is doing well,” said Glyn Binkin, Fleur’s agent.
Do you think Luke Fleur will be good signing for Chiefs?
However, we can confirm that Fleurs will be signed and be announced by Chiefs management, in less than seven days to come. Another thing that will make things easy for him to earn himself a contract, is because he used to work with Molefi Ntseki during his teenage stage. Ntseki is currently Amakhosi head coach.
At the moment, Molefi Ntseki’s best back four players that started many games are Reeve Frosler, Given Msimango, S’fiso Hlanti and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe. However, two games ago, Ntseki benched Msimango and started Njabulo Ngcobo ahead of him. Some fans including our analyser, Senzo Sambo believes that competition at the back, make players improve their self. Here is what he said.
“Competition is very key in a team. When i saw Molefi Ntseki giving Njabulo Ngcobo an opportunity to play i was impressed why because we need that Competition within the team for players to push themselves to the best of their abilities so they help the team.
“Given Msimango has started doing individual training for almost two weeks now with Mavreka and he is working hard to try and get back into the team because he sees Mapholoba is coming. Same applies to Njabulo Ngcobo i saw him on Instagram with his fitness coach working hard behind the scenes it’s what you want in your team two good players pushing each other for a place in the team.
“I was so disappointed seeing Edmilson Dove being moved to the left my fear was the injuries plus the lack of competition Dithlokwe will have in that LCB position hence I’m hoping that Luke Fleurs impress the technical team and sign with us we need him. As for Dove playing as a left back i wouldn’t count on it an injury prone hogging the line lol we all know how that is gonna end give it a few games.”
