Capetown City chairman John Comitis has finally broken his silence regarding the future of Mdudusi Mdantsane and Khanyisa Mayo. He even said no one has contracted them regarding any of their players.
Both players were linked with a very possible transfer to Kaizer Chiefs FC at the end of the season, especially attacking midfielder Mdudusi Mdantsane. Khanyisa Mayo was also linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs FC, later Chlorkop side joined Chiefs by putting an eye to him.
According to the official statement that John released, at the moment, it is just rumours that both stars will make it to Chiefs before the next season start.
“There had been s lot said regarding our players. But we will not discuss this untill somebody approaches us directly and makes an offer.
“So far no body has contracted us regarding any of our players. It is just all rumours(at the moment).
The 28-year-old recently celebrated 100 games in the colours of City – after almost three years at the club.
Having joined the 2021/22 league runner-ups in January 2020 as a free agent after parting ways with Baroka, the playmaker has become one of the leading talents in the DStv Premiership.
With 20 goals in 102 appearances he’s City’s all-time leading goalscorer but ‘Mdu’ seems to have lost his goalscoring boots this season as he only scored once and assisted on one occasion in 27 appearances in 2022/23.
A close source confirmed to iDiskiTimes that in January, Chiefs wanted to get the signature of Mdantsane on loan with an option to buy.
But the deal collapsed on the last day of the transfer window, with City understood to be preferring an outright fee, while the player rejected a chance to join Sekhuhune United, who agreed on a transfer fee with City.
This publication has now been informed that Amakhosi are back in negotiations to sign the South Africa international midfielder for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Talks are ongoing regarding the deal between the two clubs but no deal has been struck as of yet, with the player’s contract expiring in 2024, after City exercised a one-year option before the turn of the year.
Mdanstane is keen on a return to the club he featured for during his development years and made it clear when he rejected the proposal from Babina Noko, that he would prefer a moveto Naturena as the next step of his career.
In other news, some fans want to see Zwane leaving Kaizer Chief FC if he fails to win Nedbank cup this year.
From the news we gathered is that, Arthur Zwane, will remain the coach of the club come next season. The upper echelons at Chiefs believe the gaffer has done reasonable well and guided the club very good given the lot of responsibility he had to shoulder. He’s been seen as the one gaffer who might turn things around for the club.
The signing of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango were his recommendations since he believes in CBs that can use their feet perfectly. He wanted CBs who are comfortable on starting the ball from the back. And he has got them. Dove is the only CB at Chiefs who can do what Zwane wants. Ngezana is not make sure with his starting from the back ability. He is mostly in a heebie-jeebies moment when he’s to start the ball from the back. And he prefers to hoof it forward instead of passing to his teammates.
From a microscopic view, it is very crystal that Zwane has not done that bad to deserve a sacking. Another season to gauge him correctly won’t hurt. He just needs to fix his defensive frailties which is why he firstly bought two defenders. Then he also looked at his creative play which he also bought Mdantsane and now we wait and see in which position he will bolster again.
