Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has shared his thoughts on the new look Kaizer Chiefs under coach Molefi Ntseki.
“We have to respect every team, we have to respect all our opponents, and Kaizer Chiefs is no different,” Mokwena told journalists.
“You know the rivalry between Kaizer Chiefs and
Mamelodi Sundowns . It’s a big encounter.”
“I don’t think Chiefs, when I look at their game against Chippa [United], are a type of a team to play very open,” he said.
“I think a little bit more conservative than last season, so we got a lot of work to do to try and break them down, to tell you the truth.
“The defensive line of four is very compact, but the one who scores first and earlier will have better possibilities than the game that produces more transitions.”
“From a physical profile, they’ve got enough to hurt you, both in open play and set pieces. It’s a team that’s in the process of improving itself. It does seem to me that, qualitatively, they have improved.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates FC played with Royal AM yesterday. Pirates won 4-3. Jose Riveiro is not happy with Pirates players despite a win against Royal AM.
Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro was critical of his side’s display in the 4-2 win over Royal AM on Tuesday evening.
“I think we should’ve finished the game early, we had many, many opportunities to finish the opponents’ hopes,” SuperSport TV.
“But we keep the game open, almost until the last minute. A bit crazy the second half, I didn’t like it.
“We should’ve controlled the game much better with a 3-1 advantage but we have to learn also from these games.
“It happens many times in this league in the second half that the game is broken and is going side to side, we need to impose our tempo in that moment. Today, we had the opportunity to do it and we missed a lot of opportunities to score the fourth one and finish the game.
