Orlando Pirates striker Bienvenu Eva Nga could see himself staying at the club after a loan move to Cape Town Spurs didn’t work out.
The Cameroonian has been struggling with game-time at Pirates since completing a free transfer from Chippa United in June 2022.
The 30-year-old scored 16 goals in the colours of Chilli Boys in 59 appearances, which earned himself a move to the Buccaneers. But he has since struggled for regular game-time at Orlando Stadium.
Reliable sources have told this publication that struggling Spurs enquired about the availability of Eva Nga at Pirates, as they wanted him on loan but his high salary remained a problem and the deal didn’t materialise.
The former Bidvest Wits striker has only made two appearances this season which were both in CAF Champions League. Overall, he has featured 17 times for the Sea Robbers, but only scored once – in his very first game against Moroka Swallows.
The Urban Warriors continue with their hunt of getting a new striker after a difficult first half of the season, which saw them scoring only 11 goals which is the lowest in the DStv Premiership.
Bienvenu Eva Nga will look to fight for his place in the starting lineup for Orlando Pirates Football Club since he has struggled to compete with Evidence Makgopa and Zakhele Lepasa which were strikers that were mostly in the Orlando Pirates Football Club lineup and both of them have been called up to represent their National team.
According to a source,it has been said that if Bienvenu Eva Nga does not perform in the second half of the Dstv Premiership season he might consider being released by the Soweto giants since he is also set to be given a chance by coach Jose Riveiro.
Some Orlando Pirates Football Club supporters are still patient with Bienvenu Eva Nga because they believe that he can still add value at the club.
Orlando Pirates Football Club will make a further statement In the coming days.
