Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is set to invite new rising star in first team training, after his impressive performances.
Pirates are planning to invite Jabulani Mokone, who impressed coach Jose Riveiro in the Carling Black Label Cup, according to Our Source close to the team. All Stars were coached by Jose Riveiro as well.
Jabulani Mokone was one of the Pirates players who seized the moment at the recent Carling Black Label Cup, making an outstanding show as the All Star XI team’s right fullback.
After making an impression for the Pirates reserve league team, Mokone was selected, and the 18-year-old is expected to have a bright future.
As he was chosen to lead the All Star squad, Pirates coach Jose Riveiro was observing from the sidelines. The Citizen reports that Mokone will now have more frequent meetings with the Bucs senior squad.
“The coach was amazed by the young man’s abilities, He (Riveiro) knew that he was talented, but didn’t expect such a performance. He spoke to him after the match and told him to keep on working hard. He has also been invited to train with the Pirates senior team more often.” an insider was quoted as saying.
Speaking to reporters following the All Star side’s R2 million prize win, Mokone expressed his enjoyment of the event.
“I learnt a lot from the camp. It was a blessing. They motivated me. They told me to keep pushing. They told me that mistakes are going to happen, but I must just focus on the things I am doing right. I enjoyed myself. I must learn a lot from them. It will be a blessing for them to help me reach a stage where I want to reach.”
