Orlando Pirates are expected to pass on Veli Mothwa, one of their top goalkeeping targets.
At the end of the season, Pirates could lose up to two of their senior first team goalkeepers, with Mothwa being a known prior target.
Although Ofori is now reported to have declined Pirates’ initial contract extension offer, the team is thought to have resumed its hunt for a goalkeeper.
However, it appears that ship may have already sailed if they had considered Mothwa as a possibility.
The player’s agent has announced they have signed a new, long-term contract for his services with AmaZulu, according to Soccer-Laduma.
“Yes, his (Mothwa) previous contract would have been coming to an end but we did our business a lot earlier than most people would’ve anticipated, however, if you want more information you would have to speak to AmaZulu president (Sandile Zungu).” The players agent Basia Michaels of QT Sports.
It will now be interesting to see if Mothwa would join the recent successful business deals with Pirates and AmaZulu.
