Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed his favourites to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
Mosimane, who is currently without a head coach job, is one of the analysts at SuperSport during the AFCON tournament.
‘Jingles’ is arguably the best club coach on the continent and is sharing his expertise throughout the coming weeks, saying he favours defending champions Senegal for the title.
“I expect Morocco to do very well t be honest. They’ve got no reason not to do well,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“But Cup of Nations you’ve got teams, so-called small ‘small teams’ who are also playing in Europe – people look at Guinea-Bissau, they play in France those guys and Portugal.
“They are tactically aware and clever, and if they have a good coach, they always create problems.
“But I still go with Senegal, I know the coach and because I know how tactically disciplined they are.”
Senegal won the previous tournament, when they beat Egypt in the final on penalties. The team of Aliou Cisse are Group C alongside Cameroon, Gambia and Guinea. They open their tournament on Monday against Tom Sainfiet’s team.
At the moment it still looks like Former Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club head coach Pitso Mosimane does not believe that Bafana Bafana can win the Africa Cup of Nations with the squad that they have selected at the moment.
Pitso Mosimane is still considering some offers for coaching clubs and it looks like Northern teams are interested in his signature including a UAE team.
But Pitso Mosimane still stands with the fact that if Kaizer Chiefs Football Club make an offer for him he will join them but at the moment he is still a jobless coach.
As it looks Pitso Mosimane will find a coaching job next season.
