Striking Coach Update

It has been two weeks now after Kaizer Chiefs FC head coach Arthur Zwane confirming that they might look for a striking department coach. So far, nothing concrete has been made in Naturena as a step to get a new coach. But we have got a major update.

Arthur Zwane felt like he need a striking department coach after his forwards players missing great chances / opportunities that were made by the likes of Kgaogelo Sekgota, Nkosingphile Ngcobo, not leaving Khama Billiat. If Chiefs strikers converted the chances they got against Mamelodi Sundowns, they would’ve easily won the game.

According to the latest reports, after the signing of a new promising striker Christian Saile Basomboli, Chiefs leaders believes that the striking department coach is not needed for now! Kaizer Chiefs FC are believing that they have got what they needed.

In July 2022, Arthur Zwane said he is in need of goal – scoring machine like Peter Shalulile of Mamelodi Sundowns FC. They got Caleb Bimenyimana, but he was not the player Zwane was talking about since the looked another player, Christian Saile Basomboli. On his preview, Zwane said Basomboli is a goal – scoring.

Christian Saile Basomboli made a Chiefs debut last game against Royal AM, where he played not more than thirty minutes. On his debut, he won many Amakhosi fans hearts, they praised him and said he has a touch of Khama Billiat. Saile assisted Ashely Du Preez on his debut.

Apart from assisting, the runs he made, successful dribbles left Kaizer Chiefs FC fans and Arthur Zwane praising him. He is expected to get more minutes on Sunday on their DSTV premiership league clash against TS Galaxy.

So, the major update is, the looking of striking department coach, is on hold for now. Things will be clear at the end of the current season.

HERE IS THE STATEMENT THAT WAS MADE BY ZWANE ON STRIKING COACH;

“We got many, many opportunities that we could have taken but we didn’t [against Sundowns].

“So, maybe going forward we might look to strengthen that department [the striking] by getting a striker coach who can help us because there’s so much going in the game… The game has evolved.”- Zwane once said.

The signing of Saile boosted Chiefs strikers. He joined Ashley Du Preez and Caleb Bimenyimana who joined Amakhosi at the start of the current season. Caleb Baminyemina is one of the leading goal scored in the league, he has seven goals and one assist while Ashley Du Preez has thre goals. Saile already has 1 assist.
