One of Mamelodi Sundowns’ midfield players, who is having trouble finding playing time at his current club, is expected to be loaned out to a PSL rival.
According to SoccerLaduma, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sammy Seabi is set to be loaned out to join KwaZulu-Natal team AmaZulu FC in order to get a gametime.
Siya sources at both teams have suggested that Sammy Seabi might be the subject of negotiations or possibly depart on a permanent basis.
“There are different players that AmaZulu fc have identified for the January transfer window. You know there are two from Orlando Pirates (Tshegofatso Mabasa & Bongani Sam) and there is also one from Mamelodi Sundowns in midfielder Sammy Seabi,” said the siya source.
“I don’t know whether the talks have begun or not but he is on the club’s shopping list and the technical team has agreed that they need a player like him in their Midfield going forward,” the source added.
Sammy Seabi hasn’t played much for Mamelodi Sundowns since joining the team in 2019, according to a second siya source, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for him to adjust to a new club outside of Gauteng.
“For now the player is ready to play at any club that will give him that chance. Last season he was at Sekhukhune United and they wanted him back but Sundowns said they wanted to use him but then he is not playing regularly as we speak and Chippa United are also interested in his services,” said the second siya source.
“So let’s wait and see what will happen in January. You know it’s a short transfer window period and teams will be busy. So AmaZulu want him now but it all depends on Sundowns,” the source added.
