Kaizer Chiefs FC have finally announced the departure of former Moroka Swallows FC midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi, who is known by the name of Nyaope boy. Chiefs parted ways with him after reaching a mutual agreement according to Chiefs media team.
This means Kaizer Chiefs FC had to terminate Mahlatsi’s contract. The money that Chiefs agreed to pay Mahlatsi for his termination has been revealed. Mahlatsi was announced as a Kaizer Chiefs FC player last year in June alongside Dillon Solomons. When joining Chiefs, he penned down three years deal, this means he was expected to leave Amakhosi in 2025, not this year.
Mahlatsi was earning arround R300 000.00 / three hundred thousand Rands every month. The money that money had to pay to terminate Kamohelo Mahlatsi’s contract is more than R6 600 000.00 / six million, six hundred thousand. This means Mahlatsi is more than 6 million richer.
According to Kaizer Chiefs FC sporting director Kaizer Motaung JR, as Chiefs management, they decided to part ways with Mahlatsi for his own sake. They want him to get more game time somewhere, since he is founding it difficult to break in to the starting line up, or failing to make it to in the starting line up.
It is not yet clear on which club is interested on signing Mahlatsi. The registration period closes this Friday. Apart from that, Kaizer Chiefs FC fans have been criticising Mahlatsi, by saying he is not good enough to play for Kaizer Chiefs FC. Here is what our analyser Makaota Masiu said earlier this year about Mahlatsi.
“We wasted two games playing Kamohelo Mahlatsi. In the minutes he started those games I’m certain that Mduduzi Shabalala would have established himself in the Kaizer Chiefs lineup.
“Arthur Zwane can delay the inevitable anyway he likes but Mduduzi Shabalala will be a starter for Kaizer Chiefs before match day 20 remember this post.
“Kgaogelo Sekgota and Kamohelo Mahlatsi will eat the bench because of Mduduzi Shabalala. That boy is a great winger very dynamic great skills very explosive 1v1 you are dead top athlete that boy.
“The only thing that will delay his progress is if Arthur Zwane plays him as a 10 because Mduduzi Shabalala is not a 10 he is an inverted forward who drifts inside coming from wide areas to create space for himself.” – he said.
