On the previous Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs FC faced Marumo Gallants on the DStv premier ship league game in FNB stadium. Chiefs failed to beat Marumo Gallants, and the game ended in a draw of 1-1.
Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane shared his comment with media and all football family. Chiefs are still on a race of finishing the league on position two, with a hope of taking part in CAF champions league this year. The draw made it difficult for Chiefs dream, as their chances to finish on position two, are becoming slim.
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says his players’ attitude need to change after dropping points against Marumo Gallants.
Chiefs’ failed to claim a fifth straight win in the DStv Premiership after drawing 1-1 with Gallants at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Soweto giants took the lead through Ashley du Preez, but allowed Gallants back into the game after another defensive error.
“Ja, I think we started very well, we scored too early again, then I don’t know what I should call this, the attitude needs to change you know. We had the opportunity to bury them,” Zwane told SuperSport after the game.
“I think after scoring the first goal we had about four chances, for me clear-cut chances, we should have taken them, we did not, then we go and concede a goal like that.
“And I just told them, ‘Stop playing the ball there, it’s too sloppy, make sure you play the ball wide quickly so that you come out of tight situation, because they are pressing with two strikers there, as soon as we bypass those two strikers we have enough space to operate or to exploit.”
“And whenever we did that correctly we looked like dominating, we dictated terms, we controlled the game but we were still not taking those half chances that we created.”
It is not the first time Kaizer Chiefs FC head coach Arthur Zwane addressing silly mistakes issues that end up making Chiefs to concede. Check what he said in January this year;
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has revealed Itumeleng Khune and Zitha Kwinika were dropped against Royal AM owing to ‘individual mistakes’.
“When it comes to Itu and Kwinika, we have been playing well, but too many individual mistakes and it’s costing us points,” Zwane told the media.
“Unfortunately, when you look at the goals we conceded, [it was] individual errors, not team mistakes and those things happen, but we had to make changes here and there because we have a big squad.
“We have to give other players the opportunities as well to showcase their talent and they responded positively, but you look at this game, and many other games, the performance is the same, the only difference is the scoreline.
“We managed to take our chances, it is not that they performed badly.”
