Since January registration period is on, kaizer Chiefs FC head coach Arthur Zwane has talked about players who are on trials at Chiefs.
“Why we have decided to do that (bring in trialists), in the past, we just see a good player, now of late, we’re profiling players,” Zwane stated.
“I know people don’t understand this but if I explain it further, they will understand why we came up with this idea. We can’t just bring in any player because Kaizer Chiefs is a beast.
“It’s not just another team that you can play for or easily settle, we wanted to see a lot of things from the players, those who are coming, to see if they can cope with our high-intensity sessions.
“Also to see how(they) settle when they are at the village and we’ll ask him questions while(they) still training there… find out what’s their take, what they think, you know.
“So why would we want to bring in players? So that(they are) willing to add value, willing to learn, we want to learn from them. Be it a foreigner or local boy, but they must come and add value,” he continued.
“So the player might be star elsewhere but not a Kaizer Chiefs player, Because of the pressure that comes with being part and parcel of Chiefs, that is why we’ve been having very good players but maybe first season, they do well and the second season.
“They drop of pressure when they are expected to take their game to another level. We’re trying to test them, their mindset to see if they can cope with everything.”- Chiefs head coach said.
