As we all know that, in South African elite league, there is currently a FiFA break as most countries national teams are clashing eachother on friendly games. Kaizer Chiefs FC under the head coach Molefi Ntseki, did not take a break as the coach confirmed that he will be working on his tactics. However, Chiefs played a friendly game today with Amatucks, the source from Amakhosi camp, reported to us that Chiefs lost that game. According to the sources, Chiefs lost 2-1.
Most of the players who are not getting a game time, got a chance to play. The players like Bruce Bvuma, Itumeleng Khune, Happy Mashiane, Njabulo Ngcobo, Keagan Dolly, Edson Castillo got a chance to play. Bvuma even conceded as per the photo above show.
Players like Edmilson Dove, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Pule Mmodi were unavailable because they are currently with their national teams. Dove is in Mozambique, Ditlhokwe is in Botswana while Mmodi is with Bafana Bafana.
In other news, some Kaizer Chiefs FC fans are saying Castillo must play as a eight or ten. But here is what Calvary Best of Chiefs page admin said about Edson;
° I’ve been getting a lot of questions from the comments section about Castillo’s position and I’ve heard a lot of views about him. Here’s my take…
° Castillo is a DM, a good & Morden DM. First of all, you must understand what good DMs do & contribute.
A good defensive midfielder should be able to pressure opponents on the ball, deny entry passes & make strong tackles.
° A good defensive midfielder must be able to cover sideline to sideline, and to closely mark forwards who might make runs at the defense. Does he not do so ? He does it very well. The problem we have is that people are still stuck to that DMs should be like Katsande they should kick other players. No! They should make us play!
° I understand that y’all want Mthethwa as a 6 so that Castillo can play as a 10/8. Which I don’t agree with that, Castillo still gives you the best performances & goals in this current position he’s playing if we feel that we need a 10, a Club must buy a 10 but not compromise Castillo. We still have Mshini, Dolly, Mdantsane & Matlou. Surely 1 or 2 among them will get their form right this season.
° Playing Castillo as a 6 is an advantage to us & an Ace card. A secret weapon, like how many DMs who score goals in this league? How many DMs makes runs as Castillo makes? You know why he keeps scoring? It’s because he makes runs that they don’t know in SA (DMs) he has qualities they don’t have. So they’re not always worried/tracing him bcs they know DMs job is not to score. Do you wanna lose that ? I don’t think so. That’s Ntseki’s secret weapon! And stay away from it.
° If we bring Mthethwa, yes he will be helpful but he won’t influence change of position of Castillo. He’d rather pair with him on a double pivot (which I don’t think Mthethwa can play) or replace him when he’s injured because I’m always worried what’s gonna happen if Castillo gets injured.
° Lastly, when Coach Ntseki was asked “What position does Castillo plays ?” He said ” Castillo is a cocktail Midfielder , he can play anywhere in the middle 6, 8 & 10″ so. I hope I answered you.”
