Kaizer Chiefs have been urged to sign Stellenbosch FC captain Deano Van Rooyen. Management of Chiefs to sign him?.
Junior Khanye, a former star player for Kaizer Chiefs, has recognized certain skills that could aid his former team in improving.
Although Cavin Johnson has maintained that the Kaizer Chiefs do not require new players, many believe the interim coach is deceiving.
The captain of Stellenbosch and defensive mainstay Deano Van Rooyen, in Khanye’s opinion, ought to be signed as a top priority.
“Defensively I think Kaizer Chiefs should sign Stellenbosch captain Deano Van Rooyen. He is the only other right-back who can compete with Khuliso Mudau at Bafana Bafana,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV.
“I don’t understand why he is not in the squad instead of Nyiko Mobbie. Chiefs need a player like Van Rooyen. He is very quick, very good at recovering when not in possession, and he has proven himself as a trophy winner.” Khanye added.
Khanye added four more names to the hat because he believes they could improve the Glamour Boys team.
He selected City hard men Brice Ambina and Kean Cupido, left back Qobolwakhe Sibande of Stellies, and striker Khanyisa Mayo of Cape Town City.
“Khanyisa Mayo would be another good fit for Chiefs. His father played for the club. He is very good technically. He still needs to improve but he has proven himself to be a good goal scoring forward.
“Other players for me would be Qobolwakhe Sibande, a left-back at Stellenbosch. Brice Ambina, defensive midfielder at Cape Town City and Keanu Cupido, the centre-back at Cape Town City.”
