Orlando Pirates will have to say goodbye to a striker who hasn’t impressed the Bucs’ management thus far this season.
With high hopes upon his arrival at Orlando Pirates, Cameroonian Souaibou Marou has not been able to fit in with the team and has only made a few appearances this season
The Citizen reports that Marou is scheduled to depart the club because he has reportedly found it difficult to adapt to the Pirates setup and the demands of the local football scene in South Africa.
“Marou is leaving the team, there is no doubt about that. The guy is struggling to cope, even at training. He has been given the chance to show what he can do, but it’s juts not working out for him,” an insider is quoted as saying
Marou started his career with Cameroonian side Coton Sport, helping them win the league and reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League. In October 2022, he won the Cameroonian men’s Ballon d’Or for 2022 as the best Cameroonian footballer of the year.In November 2022, it was reported that Marou had reached an agreement to join South African club Orlando Pirates, though Coton Sport denied any contract had yet been signed.
