Stellenbosch FC defender has reportedly rejected a transfer move to Soweto giants. Both Pirates and Chiefs were interested in signing Stellies defender.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs were reportedly interested in signing the Cote d’Ivoire defender Oliver Toure who is currently playing for Stellenbosch FC, but unfortunately the player wants to play in Europe.
According to IDiskiTimes, Ismael Toure, a defender for Stellenbosch, would rather move to Europe despite interest from the Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
The gossip mill this week said that Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates were in the running to recruit Ismael Toure, the central defender for Stellenbosch. However, iDiski Times thinks the Winelands club is determined to sell to a foreign clubs.
With 20 league matches under his belt this season, the 26-year-old Ivorian has established himself as a vital member of Steve Barker’s team, helping them advance to the Nedbank Cup semifinals. It is less than a year since he joined the club.
“Toure has emerged as a potential target for Orlando Pirates in the off-season. But sources indicate the club and the player’s first preference is to move to Europe. Stellies have not hidden their desire to try and facilitate more moves for players abroad while also securing healthy profits for their investments,” the iDiski Times source said.
