Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson is set to return to his Head of Youth role when the current season ends, iDiski Times has learnt.
Johnson joined Amakhosi in September 2023 as Head of Youth – a portfolio that includes full oversight of the club’s youth academy.
A month later, the former Platinum Stars coach was the appointed as the Chiefs’ interim coach after the sacking of Molefi Ntseki, with Dillon Sheppard working as his assistant.
Johnson claimed five wins in 15 matches in charge so far, but four of those came in his first six games, with the club now experiencing a run of just one win in their last nine games.
Chiefs have struggled to find the right balance since the beginning of the season, and they find themselves sitting eighth on the league table, seven points behind third-placed Orlando Pirates.
This publication has learnt from sources close to Naturena that Johnson will finish the current season as interim coach before returning to his original role ahead of the 2024/25 season.
